Foresna Zurgaia informs forest owners how to implement certification in their forests

The Navarre partners of the USSE Foresna Zurgaia have recently held a conference in Pamplona with the aim that forest owners know the necessary mechanisms for the implementation of certification in their forests and know the importance that this may have in the short and medium term in the future when selling their wood.

Certification is a market tool that shows consumers that forest products (mainly wood) come from a responsibly and sustainably managed forest.

Currently, in Navarra there is a growing demand for certified wood, something that in other countries is already a reality, so not developing this management reduces competitiveness compared to other producing regions.

Representatives of PEFC Spain, Smurfit Kappa, Association of Wood Entrepreneurs of Navarra (Ademan), GAN (Environmental Management of Navarra), NIK (Nafarroako Ingurumen Kudeaketa), Maderas Gamiz and Government of Navarra, among others, have participated in the conference, which has counted with the collaboration of the USSE.
